Journaling and Scrapbooking
on a Junk Notebook

In scrapbooking we usually write and paste scraps on good paper.
Let me try to paste good paper (and scraps, of course) on junk paper

How it started

A white page is always intimidating. If that page is also part of a beautiful, high quality and maybe expensive notebook it is even worst. I always feel this pressure to made something good, beautiful and worthy and this feeling sometimes prevent me even to start because of the fear of messing up.

So I wanted to try to reverse the process and made a notebook out of scraps, old newspaper and any sort of large enough piece of paper I found at home. No beautiful paper, no fancy or expensive notebooks, just pages, some of them really crappy, needing to be filled.

The next step was to create a goal, not that I need it but I found that committing myself to a milestone help tremendously.

The 100 pages project

And here is the goal: very simple, I make pages.
One day one, one day none, one day three.
No rush but I'm committed in posting on Instagram one page a day for 100 days.

There will be nice pages as well as crappy pages. Experiments and mixed media and mixed techniques. The idea is to just have fun, follow every inspiration and learn.

And how it finished

The project ended on Aug. 23, 2019
while I was in Paris, attending ISC19FR.
Here is a sketchnote about the experience.

"Greetings from..."
a Scrap Exchange Project

This is a by-product project of the main project.
Is not a real project, yet, but I love the idea to create a "Saluti dall'Italia" (Greetings from Italy) notebooks out of original and authentic Italian scraps and send them around the world to people interested in sending their scraps back to me.

I do believe that lot of stuff that is taken for granted to me may be a treasure for other people.
